Codes and Conventions of Filming And Editing Interviews
In the teeth of jaws, codes and convetions:
Sound: The theme music/ iconic music is played in the background of the documentary, making it recognisable to the audience.
Graphics: The name, and roles of the interviewee scroll across the bottom of the screen, giving their relevance to the documentary
Mise en scene: Something symbolising the subject in the background, for example a picture of Jaws in the background of the interview. (green screen)
Edit: The questions are never asked, they are just incorporated in the answer. Cutways are used.
The Simpsons 20th Anniversay special in 3d on ice, Codes and Convention:
The Iconic theme music is played in the background.
Names and roles of the interviewee scroll on the bottom of the screen
The simpsons characters in the background of the interviews making it more visually interesting.
Small sections played of the interviews at different times, not all in one chunk
Cutaways:make the piece more interesing, and spit it up.
to stop jump cuts.
Like jaws, the questions aren't asked but incorporated in the answer.
