Type of documentary:This documentary is a mixed one, it consists of all the conventions that is needed in a mixed documentary including interviews, evidence, narrator, music, reconstructions and archive material.Themes: The major themes involved in this documentary are surrounded by computers and the dangers of the internet. It consists of discussing the issues with emails and also gives us a close knowledge of the main couple involved in the documentary. family due to the cyberstalker.
Narrative structure: The beginning of the narrative starts with some background information on the couples involved in the story being documented. It explains what happened to them during there experience and the effects it had on there life. The middle of the documentary then goes back and starts from the beginning, describing how it all happened and what they did to stop it from happening.
Camerawork:Closeups on shots of computers and typing on internet pages. Evidence provided has extreme closeups to anchor the importance of the shot and what the consequences were. Mid shots of all the interviews to enhance the similarities between them and that nobody throughout the documentary was as important or more important than the other. There were also some wide shots overlooking Jamaica when it was all a positive environment..
Mise-en-scene: Each mise en scene is very important in this documentary as it symbolises the documentaries themes. Each of the interviews are sat behind a computer which is the main subject of what the documentary is about, and also they are mostly in the comfort of there own home, this is where the cyber stalking starting and continued, in the comfort of there own home.
Sound: The sound throughout the documentary changed, it was always in the background of the interviews, however depending on the mood of the specific shot, the sounds changed. For example, in Jamaica, the drums and banjos were playing to represent the cultural side of the country, then when the cyberstalking was talking place, there were many sudden notes and built up crescendos to enhance the tension of the documentary and to make it more thrilling for the audience. Sound effects were also used, for example, the loud tapping noises on the computer was a loud effect.
Editing: Black and white editing was used when showing reconstructions to portay that they wer ein the past and more older than the interviews. There were also an overlap of photos that again made the documentary look manic and stressful, this compliments with the overall theme of the documentary as the couple involved went through a really hard time. There were also some blurred effects during the extreme closeups that slowly cleared up as the camera moved closer towards them.
Graphics: Graphics used was simple as it would have taken the attention off the main subject involved. 'Stalker' was written in graffiti along the bottom of the page in a white graphic, this font was symbolic as throughout the documentary evidence was shown of nasty messages being written all over his house and walls.
